The Earth System Modelling Group (ESMG)
is part of the Department of Atmospheric and Oceanic
Sciences, in Burnside Hall of McGill University,
situated in downtown Montreal, QC, Canada. The group
is under the direction of Lawrence A. Mysak, who
is also a member of the Global and Environmental Climate Change Centre, the successor of the Centre for Climate and Global
Change Research.
The main goal of the research in the ESMG is to
develop and apply reduced complexity models of the
Earth system to better understand decadal and longer
term climate variability and change. Analysis of
climate data and data-model intercomparison studies
are also important activities of the ESMG. For further
information, see Research.
